The fourth edition of Tiro is out now with many interesting articles for speech-to-text reporters. The themes of the new issue include the politics of reporting, reporting non-verbal activities, including routine speech by the chairperson in an official report, changing reporters’ position in the plenary hall and parliamentary reporting during a filibustering session. The authors also discuss the usability of ASR technology in professional reporting, the Turkish F-keyboard, an open online course for real-time subtitling and the meaning of “verbatim” in verbatim reporting. Furthermore, the issue includes a conference report from the first virtual symposium of the British-Irish Parliamentary Reporting Association (BIPRA).

We are happy to welcome all feedback about the articles! Share your thoughts in the comment section below or get in touch via tiro@intersteno.org with your ideas for news or future issues of the journal.
